Raymond Carver

Has anyone else read any of Raymond Carver's short stories? I've read a few, and I think they are usually really good - often short, but saying a lot in very few words. Highly recommended

Hi Archaelogist, I love Raymond Carver's writing, he is so fascinating and blows apart how a short story is written. He can often take the most banal of subjects and turn it into a great short story. x

Hi BOOklover - glad you also rate him - I agree with you totally. I saw the film 'Jindabyne' based on one of his stories which prompted me to read him

That is SO weird. I was at a gig last night - Americana singer Rachel Harrington - she's fab - and one of her songs, caslled 'Carver' is based on a poem by Raymond Carver!

His stories are usually fairly short and pithy - I'd recommend them
