Wladyslaw Szpilman

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this film yet!

What a film...so much raw emotion, and clearly so much passion put into it by Roman Polanski, given his experiences. I cannot fail to be moved every time I see this film; it is indeed a brilliant adaptation of Szpilman's autobiography.

If you haven't read the book, it's a must!

I totally agree with your post. A harrowing and thought provoking film, superbly made with honesty and harshness but with brief delicate moments of tenderness, whilst respecting the subject matter. Moments from this film still haunt me.
